That’s nothing to ‘wine’ about!

If you like wine but are not always in love with the price tag, you will be pleasantly surprised at your reasonable choices while on Aruba.

We like our wine but wouldn’t consider ourselves wine snobs by all means. Show us a good happy hour wine list and we are ‘in’! Some of our favorite places for a glass (or two or three), or heck even a bottle are listed below. Feel free to share some of your ‘go to’ wine spots while on Aruba in the comments.

Surfside Beach Bar – This is a regular hang out for us. We can walk there from our home and the happy hour wines can’t be beat! From 12 – 1 pm and 5 – 6 pm daily, select red or white wines are half price. Regular glass price is $5.50. Half price brings it to only $2.75/glass! They also offer happy hour deals on select beer and cocktails.
Oh, and we can’t forget the wood fire grill pizzas!

So delicious! Watch the planes land and enjoy!

Bochincha- This unique dining space is made up of shipping containers. There are several dining options to choose from. Since we like to have wine with dinner, we choose to sit up top at Bacchus Wine Market and order a bottle. They make is super easy by categorizing their wines in 3 different price points. Afl. 45, 65 or 95. These prices are in florins, so if you are looking for a bargain, the Afl 45 wine comes out to only $25 for a bottle. Then you can decide what you are hungry for from one of the 7 other restaurants, and it will be brought to your table. The best part about sitting at Bacchus Wine Market is they have very comfy couches and the vibe is Hopi Bon! *You are required to purchase a bottle of wine to sit in their seating area.

Cafe The Old Dutch – is more of a local hangout offering yummy tapas, live music and great wine prices. On a recent visit there we had a bottle of Pinot Grigio for Afl 35, that’s only $20! Fun and lively place with indoor and outdoor seating available! Last week we were even treated to a guest appearance by Grammy nominated George McCrae, singer of ‘Rock Your Baby’.

Nos Clubhuis – can’t beat the view from this second story bar and grill on Palm Beach. Happy hour is from 12 – 1 pm and again from 5 – 6 pm. Select happy hour wines are $5 a glass (and a really nice pour). They offer happy hour specials on other select drinks and beers as well. The staff is fun and welcoming and the music selection is a variety that we all know the words to! Stick around and catch a beautiful sunset!

Bits and Cheeses – Bits & Cheeses offers wholesale catering, retail, eat in, take out and events for a variety of the best specialty Cheeses, Charcuterie, Butter & Wine.
Just looking at this photo makes my mouth water! Have a look at their Facebook page. Located downtown Oranjestad.

Aruba Wine & Dine – is a hospitality group on Aruba that has several restaurant/bars under it’s umbrella. (A couple of the ones I mentioned above). Check out their website for the list of venue options ranging from casual to high end. This organization has been around a long time and they really know their stuff! They are also very involved in local charitable contributions.
